Event Network, the leading retail partner to cultural attractions across North America, today announced it was named a winner in the 2021 SEAL Business Sustainability Awards. SEAL Awards honor leadership and innovation in, and commitment to, sustainable business practices. Event Network’s 2021 Award recognizes specific achievements in the development and maintenance of sustainable retail environments through the use of eco-friendly materials. It requires a complete commitment during the company’s store design and construction project management processes.

This is the second time that Event Network’s environmental initiatives have been recognized by the program. Event Network won the SEAL distinction in 2019 for sustainable product packaging design practices and achievements in reducing waste during product shipping and repackaging (i.e,. supply chain management).

Sustainable building practices and the creation of sustainable store environments are applied to every retail location operated by Event Network, spanning nearly 100 partnerships at America’s leading cultural attractions that reach nearly 70 million guests annually.

“Event Network’s commitment to use sustainable and recyclable materials, create a single-use plastic-free environment, conserve energy, and reduce waste are built into the DNA of our retail planning on multiple levels,” said Jerry Gilbert, Chief Marketing Officer and Principal of Event Network.  “It is important to us that we demonstrate this through the merchandise we sell inside the shops; how those products are sourced, packaged and shipped; and how we design and construct the retail environments.  Behind the scenes, we work hard to ensure that our store remodels live up to our and our partners’ sustainability values and missions because it is the right thing to do.  To get credit for it is just a bonus. On behalf of our whole team, we thank the SEAL committee for bringing awareness to the importance of sustainability in business practices.  It is a great honor to be recognized among this group of esteemed companies who are doing their part to protect the planet.”
